Subaru, which could proudly boast of leading the world with the introduction of the FF drive system, produced the Rex Combi designed to make 100% use of the benefits offered by FF. Despite working with the limitations of being a compact car, the pursuit of greater livability meant all four tires were made wide and low with no holding back to give a style with stability and its irregular long wheel base was a feature. Its flash surface body that gave an excellent aerodynamic performance while traveling at high speeds kept dowm wind noise and saw the car move ahead directly with stability. The excellence of the interior and exterion finishing was also wonderful, almost making people forget it was still only a compact car. the suspension was engine from the EK23 type ahowed a 4-cycle OHC, 31PS/6000 rpm, and with two balanders mounted, it also had a high degree of silence.
