[Actual vehicle guide]
- 169 series Express trains based on 165 series appeared in 1968 as a vehicle corresponding to emphasis operation with the EF63 type electric locomotive in the Usui Pass section of Shin - Etsu Main Line.
- Among the 169 series belonging to the Matsumoto Operating Center, the vehicle (reversed car) replaced with the reclining seat was active in a temporary train mainly in cream and green [N color].
