Hello, this is Tomeko. Today I'd like to talk a little bit about trains, model trains and items related to them. What would you think of when you hear about a "skirt" of a train? It is an armor-looking plate that is mounted on the front part of some trains for the purpose of preventing small rocks and other obstacles on the track from hampering the movement of the wheels. It is sometimes used for noise insulation also. As many of you train fans are very familiar, whether or not a train is equipped with a skirt has a great impact upon how she looks. Let me illustrate my point. Ha, ha... just kidding! Honestly, my knowledge on trains is practically nonexistent and what I said above is little more than what you can find on Wikipedia. If you find some misinformation there, don't blame me. Blame it on Wiki, please. If I may get tad serious here, shown below are some of the model train items that interest even a complete layman such as myself. The Tree 015 Coconut palm The Tree 016 Cycas revoluta The Tree 017 Canary palm You know, the beaty of those items is the fact that they are great not just for train enthusiasts but for everyone who happens to be interested in creating a scenery in his/her own house. Sadly those 3 items I picked up here are all closed for reservation, but I picked them up anyhow, because summer is my favorite season and they are perfect for recreating a summer-like layout of your own, wouldn't you agree? If you are interested, please register on the "waiting list mail". We will let you know as soon as they are open for orders. Also, summer in Japan is impossible without cemeteries and tombstones. Visual Scene Accessory 024 Grave C You may be wondering what in the world tombstones could ever have with summer. We all know that Japan is a country full of weird traditions. One such tradition is that some kids enjoy testing their courage in cemetries in summer, basically simply by running around there at night. Incidentally, exchanging ghost stories with friends and pals is yet another national pastime among Japanese who want to alleviate the summer heat with "chilling" anecdotes. Well, I hope you will enjoy building your layout with those items. Last but not the least, as of today we make a total renewal of our homepage, commemorating the 10th anniversary of HOBBY SEARCH. We thank you all cordially for all your support, and wish that we can continue to work for you for a very very long time to come. And we hope you like our new homepage. Until next week!! |
