There are 29 stations on Yamanote line and it takes about one hour to go around. But, do you know Yamanote line is not a loop, contrary to popular belief? Look at the true Yamanote line!  The true Yamanote line consists of the stations from Tabata through Shinjuku to Shinagawa. Yes, the west side only! Actually, the orange line is Tohoku main line, and the blue line is Tokaido main line. So why it's called Yamanote line? Well, because it's useful in many respects.
