The other day, I was watching [Miracle Train ~Welcome to Oedo Line] and there was a scene where a new character was introduced, that resembled a
certain detective drama, which made Kapinozuka very happy. Can't something be done about this, Daimon-kun?! Right. The Railway Collection Toyama Light Rail series! ![]() There are 7 colors for the Toyama Light Rail series released in The Railway Collection series by Tomytec. They are highly popular, but you might be able to collect them all at once if you get them now. The railway Collection Toyama Light Rail ![]() It's a pretty impressive sight if you line them all up side-by-side. However, the Railway Collection is a display model, so they can't run on its own. ![]() They do have wheels, but if you look at it closely, it's molded into the chassis. Unlike the previous Railway Collections, this wheel won't rotate. Seriously, even I didn't expect it to be molded in one piece! SO... I decided to motorize it! We will use the Toyama Light Rail TLR0605 (green) as the test subject for now. ![]() First, let's remove the floorboard by pulling the skirt a little with your finger. ![]() It comes off a lot easier than I expected. When you take one off, the other will come off with it, so be careful with that. ![]() We will use the TM-LTR01 Rail Collection Power Unit for LRT (2car joint) as the power unit. This is equipped with a motor. ![]() You will need to attach the body with hood and pantograph first, then the other. Be careful not to attach it the wrong way, as it will only fit properly in one direction! ![]() If both the bodies fit perfectly, then the attachment is complete. So let us get onto running it! ![]() Mini Railway model Driver Set! *pulls out of pocket, Doraemon style* This set contains a power unit N-400 (controller), mini curve rail x6, straight rail x1, re-railer rail (the part that looks like a rail crossing) x1, re-railer (the piece for getting the train model onto the rail) x1, D.C. feeder x1. I was surprised too see that everything was packed into such a small packaging. We managed to make a small circuit to fit the Hobby Search photography booth. It can be laid out on Kapinozuka's computer desk. ![]() Using the re-railer, we will get the Toyama Light Rail (green) we put together previously onto the rail. ![]() 1. Flick the power switch! 2. Pull the movement direction leaver to forward. 3. Turn the speed adjustment dial and let it start! ![]() Ahh wonderful, it worked without a problem! With that, the motorization of Toyama Light Rail is complete.
