There was a little commotion in the office at lunch break today, apparently one of the staff had a slipped disc. And here I was, thinking slip disc was something old people get. Anyway, Tomeko here. How's it everyone? I thought I might as well introduce something related, so here is a plastic model construction kit, which looks like it has a weak(?) hip. Krote  From Maschinen Krieger. I don't know much about the original story and stuff, but I am fond of the machine designs.  The reverse joint, full of wonder. It kinda reminds me of bird legs, how cute! Though looking at the design, it seems it will be rendered useless as soon as the leg is hit... It apparently has a loooong title of unmanned walking assault/scouting tank... its like a curse.  There is a mysterious circular handle at the back of the head. I can't stop grinning at the thought of the mechanic manually turning the knob. The reality of robotic machines, you could say.  Here is a close-up of the suspension and face. I just love the arm frame, gives off the feel of an industrialized robot! Someone give me a completed model please! (*Tomeko isn't very skilled at model construction...) There is a gatling gun equipped at the front. And the circular object at the top right... I assume is the headlight or something. It could aim sideways by rotating its head left or right, but is it just me or does it not seem like it could move much vertically...? ......oh wait, it can just extend its legs, I guess.  Image from the back~ The engine that probably would reek of oil, the exhaust pipe at the back of the head that would gush steam or something, its so full of dream! This is how a true robot should be! So yeah... The machine looks so adorable, but in my honest opinion, it seems weak (so mean). I sooooo wouldn't wanna be in this if I got sent to war...... though it is unmanned. Right, Maschinen Krieger has the impression of having items that seems like a space suite wannabe, but the straight machinery design is very tasteful too. The Falke and Lunadiver etc. from Hasegawa are most machine like, I reckon (although its slightly different in scale to the items by Wave, which is a slight drawback...) So yeah, why not build, compare and explore this exciting world of Maschinen Krieger? So yeah, that's it for the introduction of the cute (but old fashioned) Krote!
