From out of the blue, Tomeko here today, Hey everyone.
Today, Kapinozuka is absent, so I will be blogging today as replacement... or so I thought, but apparently Yon got there ahead of me. How tragic.
But yeah, its just short topic today, so I hope you will have a read anyway.
Topic 1: Item that caught my attention today.
U.S. Army Priest Set
No, not this man here, although he is a priest too.
Trigun, highly recommended. It quite a famous manga, so recommending it now may be too late, but it really is a good manga. The movie was released here in Japan, it was pretty
good too!
Errrr... sorry, got sidetracked, this guy here is the real military priest.
When there is a war, there are always casualties, and naturally loss of soldiers are inevitable. I guess he is there for the people like those soldiers. Apparently they are
generally people who is qualified as a priest,
serving as a militant, but is mainly treated as an officer rather than a private.
Of course, they don't just attend funerals, but do the daily prayers and preaches too (well that's probably more of their main job, I guess).
And importantly, the kit content...
Chaplain dressed officially x1, Coffin, Tribute Bouquet, Memento box
STRONG atmosphere of mid-war, isn't it...?
The coffin is as expected, but the memento box n stuff just seems so realistic.
Anyway, I was thinking how rich of the American army are to take a priest with them to war, but apparently the old Japanese army also had a war monk too.
I had introduced a refugee set like that of the Diary of Anne Frank, but there are occasionally interesting items in these kind of imported model kits, well worth keeping an eye
out for, in my opinion!
Topic 2: Hobby Show Reminiscences
The Hobby Show had soo much products displayed, but depending on the company, there were also some odd displays that were not products too.
For example, at the booth of Hasegawa......
There were real German Army equipments from the WWII displayed.
It hit the spot soo well, that I couldn't help taking pics while complaining that we didn't have enough time.
Other than this, Aoshima had a real Countach displayed, and Tamiya booth had remote control cars n mini4WDs (a.k.a. Tamiya cars) racing around etc.
Its fun to look at new products up closes, but its nice that the Hobby Show also often have these things to look at too. The displays are over for the year, but I can't wait for
next year's Hobby Show already.
Topic 3: One-off.
Sadako.
And here is the spoiler.
So yeah, Akiyama Mio from Azone International!!
I'm really sorry, Azone... orz
And that's it for today!
See you tomorrow!
By Tomeko, who wonders what the hit drama will be for the year after the next.
