HobbySearch is wrong. The tip is removable - the instructions even say so. Unfortunately, a lot of people's (myself included) are stuck in place, whether it because of paint, or that it was glued, I don't know. Some people have had luck getting it off by soaking it in hot water, but I accidentally covered the whole sword in hot water, which bent the sword, made the hilt's plastic a bit bubbly, and the tip still didn't come off, so if you try hot water, BE CAREFUL.
