TOMYTEC New Product Announcements! -figure side-
Hey there everyone, this is Tominon.
I went to a TOMYTEC new product announcement fair yesterday, so I have some fresh info on new products for you today!
Kapinozuka will introduce the model train products, and I will introduce the figures and character goods.

First off, we have scheduled for August...
Tetsudou Musume Premium!!!

What are Tetsudou Musume?
They're girls in uniforms of real railway workers.

And they're not just in uniform, but each also works in that position and has her own profile.
Currently there are 60 (!) Tetsudou Musume girls.
And this 5th anniversary commemorative Premium edition has remixes of characters that were popular in the past.
It's a must-see for both old and new fans alike!

There are 11 different types: 6 normal, 4 variations, and 1 secret.
As always, let's take a look at each.

Sanriku Railway driver (old uniform - summer)
Alice Kuji!
Her name comes from Kuji Station and (an anagram of) the Riasu Line of the Sanriku Railway.
Born September 3, 1984.
Height 165cm, Scorpio, blood type AB, driver with the Sanriku Railway.
Graduated from Kuji Technical of Iwate. Long hair, mischievous.
Enjoys photography, favorite foods are fresh local seafood rice bowl and sea squirt.
She was in Tetsumusu vol.3 and again in vol.8 as a secret.
Her grandmother was a "Hokugen no Ama", an ama diver.

Choshi Electric Railway station staff
Tsukushi Togawa!
Her name comes from Tokawa station and the trolley train "Mio Tsukushi".
Born May 1, 1986.
Height 155cm, Taurus, blood type O, station staff of Inuboh station.
Loves moist rice crackers and taiyaki. Likes flowers and children and has a great smile.
She was in Tetsumusu vol.6 and vol.10.
She's so easygoing she falls asleep while waiting for trains to come in, but works like no other when necessary.
Her name is Togawa, but the station she was named after is actually Tokawa.

Her uniform just screams, "I work for the railway!"

Tokyo Car Corporation Yokohama Factory rigger
Arumi Kanazawa!
Her name comes from the station closest to her factory, Kanazawa-bunko, and aluminum, used to make railway cars.
Born January 27, 1985.
Aquarius, blood type AB, rigger at Tokyo Car Corporation's Yokohama Factory.
Slender but strong and likes to play with machines. Likes to exercise and has low body fat.
Recently, she's taken up interest in welding. She appears in Tetsumusu vol.7 in a welder's outfit.

Odakyu Restaurant System VSE (Vault Super Express) attendant
Asagi Shibusawa!
Her name comes from Shibusawa station and the express train Asagiri.
Born August 15, 1982.
Leo, blood type B, Odakyu Restaurant System employee.
Attendant on the Romancecar VSE. Her work is impeccable but she's shy outside of her job.
You can hear her on Tetsumusu Drama CD vol.5.

Ueda Electric Railway Bessho Onsen station master (winter clothes)
Mai Yagisawa!
Her name comes from Yagisawa Station just before Bessho Onsen and Maida Station before that.
Born August 8, 1985.
Height 158cm, Leo, blood type O, Ueda Electric Railway employee. Statiom master of Bessho Onsen Station.
Her home is a ryokan of Bessho Onsen. Enjoys buyo (Japanese dance) and kendo. Her favorite general of the Sengoku period is Yukimura Sanada.
She appears in Tetsumusu vol.9, and the instruction card that comes with the secret says she has a cousin who works for a train manufacturer in Kanagawa.

A station master dressed like this? I love it!

Saitama Railway driver
Misono Kawaguchi!
Her name comes from the Higashi-Kawaguchi and Urawa-Misono stations.
Born March 25, 1986
Taurus, blood type O, driver with the Saitama Railway Corporation.
Passionate person who enjoys indoor soccer and Kobaton (the Saitama prefecture mascot).
The second girl with glasses in the series after Azusa Matsumoto. These etched metal glasses are included.
The TV Drama series showed her path to becoming a driver.

She's holding Kobaton! She's in uniform! She's so cute!

And that's it for the six Tetsudou Musume girls.
These figures are so cute! It's like they just popped out from Mibu Natsuki's illustrations!
If you've been on any of these railway trains, you might recognize the uniforms.

Next up! We have...
Tetsudou Musume Container Collection vol.3!

These 1/150 scale container models have been wrapped in Tetsudou Musume original designs!
Each box contains one 40ft HQ or three 12ft containers.

And to be released at the same time is this
Tetsudou Musume Container Collection Storage Case!
Here's how it looks inside!

This case is perfect for storing these 1/150 scale model containers.
You can shift the foam around to fit various sizes of containers.

It even comes with three customization sheets, to make the case your very own!

What a case!
Train/railway fans and Tetsumusu fans alike can enjoy this item.

Tetsudou Musume is available as not only figures but character songs, drama series, manga, even games.

Next!
The Sabo Collection Ms. Sabo Figure Summer Uniform Version!
The mascot girl Ms. Sabo from the Sabo Collection of the Component Model series is now available as a figure!
The last Ms. Sabo figure was calm and composed, but this time she's got a face full of smile! And she's in the refreshing summer uniform this time too.

Ms. Sabo's profile
Age: 19
Height: 2.5 sabos tall
Weight: average
Family: Lives with her grandfather, father, mother, older brother

Her weight's more vague than Hello Kitty's "three apples' worth."
She is a girl, after all.

1/10 scale, like the Sabo Collection!
You can have her hold your favorite sabo from the collection!
(By the way, sabo is short for signboard or sideboard, the destination signs on trains and buses.)
And for those of you without any Sabo Collections, they've included an original Sabo Collection piece, the "For Sasebo (via Hiradoguchi)" to use!
This included sabo is a single handle type and has a sign on both sides, but the reverse side is flipped vertically.
The reason for that is because you grab the handle, pull it out, flip it, and slide it back in. Try it out for yourself!

And this brown fellow. It's Ms. Sabo's partner, Tegu the steel rat.
Congratulations on your figure debut!

He's so cute!
Like Nausicaa and Teto, Kiki and Jiji, Ash and Pikachu, these two are connected with a strong bond.
You can put him wherever you like!

And last is not a character item, but something I really want...

Electric Side Rollsigns!

When you specify the station number on the controller (sold separately) they begin turning slowly!
It looked just like the real thing!
It's wireless so you can put it anywhere you like, and you can control multiple rollsigns with one controller.
Imagine having these all over your room!

They come with white LED backlights so you can enjoy the glow of the signs at night.
It even does the flickering when you turn it on, like real sign lights!
I've got to have this!

And there are manual rollsigns too!
SHM-05 Manual Front Rollsign Series 115 Tohoku/Takasaki Line
SHM-06 Manual Front Rollsign Series 113 Boso Area

I was so engrossed in turning these signs that I forgot to take pictures!
It's my fault I only have pictures from the product page. :(

But the turning was really smooth!
I got so excited just from seeing familiar station names come up.
There's a little window on the back that opens up too, so you can turn it while checking what's displayed from the back like a real driver does!
Fans of trains are sure to love this.
You can even hang them up. Now I really want one!

And that's it for my report.
You can find the report on train models over at Kapinozuka's entry!

See you all later!
