--The Kum 1000 series appeared in 1989 as a vehicle with the same performance as the Koki 100 series in order to speed up piggyback transportation.
――There are Kum 1000/1001 type that can be operated by 2 cars and 1 unit, and Kum 1000-500 type that can be operated by 1 car unit, and it was used on Tokaido / Sanyo Main Line and Tohoku Main Line Hokuriku Main Line.
――In addition to the operation combined with container trains, there were trains that were operated with a maximum of 22 cars per train due to strong demand at the time of appearance.
--Piggyback transportation decreased due to the subsequent decrease in demand and problems with truck loading efficiency, and was completely abolished around 2000.
