[About the actual vehicle]
- The JNR Kumoya 495 series was manufactured in 1966 as an overhead line test vehicle for both alternating and direct use.
- Although it is based on the body of an express train, it has a low roof with no hem drawers, and, together with the non-penetrating curved three-paned window in the front, it has a unique exterior that is unlike any other.
- After the privatization of Japan National Railways, it was taken over by JR Tokai, the AC equipment was removed, and the model was changed to the Kumoya 193 series 50 series as a DC-only machine, and it remained active until 1998.
- This time Endo will commercialize the Kumoya 495 series/Kumoya 193 series 50 series.
- The appearance of the JNR era when both AC and DC was used is the original non-air-conditioned era, and in addition, the appearance after being inherited by JR is the appearance immediately after the inheritance when the AC and DC colors were retained, and the later years when the warning color yellow stands out against the blue. We offer three types of appearances.
