- Fomag produced many military vehicles during World War I, but after the end they returned to producing civilian vehicles, and in the late 1920s they produced gigantic (for the time) buses.
- The bus was over 6 meters long, had a 3-axle chassis and a 150 horsepower engine, and could reach a top speed of 55 km/h.
- Development of the bus continued, with a modernized version called the Fomag 7or660 appearing in 1935.
- The body of the vehicle has become more streamlined, and the engine has been replaced with a robust 160 horsepower engine, allowing for a top speed of 90 km/h.
- With the rise of the Nazi regime, production of military vehicles accelerated, and production of the Fomag 7or660 was also ordered to be increased for postal service.
- The German postal service was planned to be integrated into military transport and delivery immediately at the beginning of military operations.
- A total of approximately 200 buses of this type were produced.
