- The M4 medium tank is a 30-ton class medium tank that boasts high mobility and firepower, developed and manufactured in the United States during World War II.
- M4A1 is a type with a cast monolithic upper body, whose mass production began in February 1942 immediately after America entered the war.
- Equipped with the same air-cooled radial engine as the M4, the M4A1 had less interior space compared to the welded steel body of the M4, but had better bullet evasion.
- The external features of the later model include: ・Mantlet shape ・Cast one-piece gear cover ・Starting wheel without cutout holes ・Auxiliary armor plate on the side of the vehicle body ・Travel lock equipment, etc.
