the figure is in bargain now, a great thing but the only issue is the size of the box...
i think to have the pic somewhere, i will try to post it as soon as possible, but it's a great figures in many ways :D

17:Jun  2014/10/23 22:36:11

@San Celluz Thanks for the pics.

Let's face it. If you wait for a couple of months, most figures will end up discounted. However, there are certainly figures that go through the cycle and never appear again. That's a risk that all bargain hunters take.

Great figure, i purchased it this summer 2014 at Akihabara Kotobukiya official shop for 10.000 yen, a good price for sure because in other shops was very expensive.

The only big issue is the size of the package, is bigger than the "Insane Black Rock Shooter package... a nightmare if you have to buy it online...

14:No Name  2014/09/04 17:37:01

hahaha finally i got it with bargain price 75usd , luckyyyyyyy :D

You guys should be aware that the companies do their production in China even though their company is in Japan.

12:nimbus  2014/02/03 12:40:54

Something about the base of this figure adds to the allure for me. This looks awesome.

11:Chriz  2014/01/28 21:43:54

And as for me...
Figures are worth whatever the buyer is willing to pay. For me, the amount of detail that went into the hair, bow and clothing made it a nice figure. Only problem I have is with the wings, which Koto was never good at making.
However, I'm not prepared to pay 15k for it (behold the shipping fee). I'm tipping her to be in the bargain bin. So I will sit it out.

10:Chriz  2014/01/28 21:36:38

@Discoceris: Dan is probably hurting cuz he paid full price for Ultimate Madoka only to see it in the bargain bin after a month.
Also, some figures do hold onto value better than others. It is as you say people will buy the figure if they like it. But such figures are rare. It takes a lot to spot one, but doesn't come down to total luck.
And believe me, at some stage you will begin to sell your figures. It would be too late to think about resell value then.

9:Discoceris  2014/01/26 4:04:50

This post is directed to "second market" retailers like Dan: If you
go into the business of figure investment, you're gambling away your
own money. Most of us won't ever sell away our purchases, because
that is our hobby. We don't look at eBay prices to determine how we make
our purchases. We buy because we want a particular item, not because some
dude on the internet told us to.

8:Discoceris  2014/01/26 3:59:05

I'll add another point ... licensing costs. Tony is a well renown artist in his
own right, but some of his artwork are licensed by other companies, like
Sega, for example. Depending on license holder, the cost for figure makers
might be less, might be more. POP from Megahouse tend to cost more
than their other series and that's due to licensing.

7:Discoceris  2014/01/26 3:56:40

@ Dan
The reason for lost of value on Ultimate Madoka was the fact that GSC made a
business decision to not have just one release, but a total of at least 4 releases.
This glutted the market with that particular figure. It didn't help that there were at least
half a dozen different types of knock-offs from illegal plants that destroyed the values
of the figures. Don't use one-off situations to justify your complaint.

6:Dan  2014/01/11 11:12:31

@Discoceris & Mari90: That's nonsense. If figures were expensive just because of the cost of materials and manufacturing they wouldn't lose their value so quickly. Don't you remember what happened with the overpriced Ultimate Madoka ?
A lot of hype for an overpriced figure that less than a month after release she was already in the Hobby Search bargain bin for half the price. This price is the result of the hype, nothing else.

5:Mari90  2014/01/10 11:45:32

Agreed. The price is not out of the ordinary at all. This is a magnificent fig, just not my style.

4:Discoceris  2014/01/09 17:08:03

Not sure why you're all complaining about the price when the figure towers
over a foot (13+ inches), which is usually reserved for 1/6 scale. With as
much detail and material going into these types of figures, it's no surprise
they cost as much as they do. The costs have gone up, even the Figmas
and Nendoroids are no exception. I'm assuming cost of labor is going up
in China as well as plant operations.

3:Tabris  2014/01/03 2:08:41

Same for me: beautiful, but too expensive now :/

2:Ashai  2014/01/01 15:52:08

Yeh...I love the shining series...and don't get me wrong this figure is omg amazing. But the price ..what is with the prices lately on the new figures :( I'll have too pass on this because of that.

1:Oliver  2014/01/01 10:23:03

What's going on with that price ?
She's a beautiful figure but there's no way she's worth over 15k. I'm very disappointed on you Kotobukiya.
