商品説明
2016 arks the 60th Anniversary of Corgi. Corgi models first appeared in 1956 as a new range of die-cast toy model cars by Mettoy Playcraft Ltd. These new toy cars were soon a huge hit, and were the only toy cars at the time that included transparent plastic windows, soon becoming known as `the ones with the windows`. In its first year of trading, Corgi sold 2.75 million cars, making it the clear leader of the British toy car industry.
Corgi has won many awards, including `The Queen`s Award to Industry` and the National Association of Toy Retailers Highest Standards Award in 1966, and more recently in January 2015, the James Bond DB5 was the winner of the Toy Fair Best New Toy Award in the Hobby category.
Today, Corgi has many highly recognisable collections under its umbrella including The Aviation Archive, Vanguards, The Original Omnibus Company, and it continues to grow and develop to satisfy its current fans but also to help inspire the next generation.
