Good evening, Kapinozuka here.

This is the poster from the [Waku waku Railway Expo] held the other day at Twinmesse Shizuoka.
This poster really struck me...
And the particular part that struck me is...
*enlarged the previous poster
(translating the Japanese)
> Finally Arrived!!
> Shizuoka Railway Series 1000 car kit pre-release sales at the expo!
Whaaaaaaaaat?!
It's something that we province private railway lovers would die for!!
So, I went to take a look using the 3-day weekend.
Using the bullet train, it doesn't take long to get to Shizuoka from Tokyo, so u can easily pop over and back.
The expo had many displays of HO and N scale etc. layout compositions, as well as No.1 scale, 5inch bullet train & steam locomotive also displayed.
Plus, there were booths selling railway models, B Trains, Plarails, Plastic model kits etc., and food stalls as well, so there were many people with kids at the expo too.
Aaaaaanyway, I was wondering where to get the Shizuoka Railway 1000 series...
And found it at the
Platz booth!
There were 3 types on sale, each with varying specifications, so I got one each.
They were all 2 car set of unpainted construction kit.
Power unit, pantograph, paint etc. weren't included, so you have to get them separately.
Now then, here is the content.
[TP-1] Shizuoka Railway Series 1000 LuLuCa Wrapping Train (2-car set)
For recreating the 1010 series formation (Kumoha1010+Kuha1510),
it comes with the LuLuCa's advertisement decal.
This decal is by Cartograf.
Oh and the air conditioner on the roof is disperse type.
[TP-2] Shizuoka Railway Series 1000 Concentration Cooler car (2-car set)
This set is for recreating the series 1001~1008 formation initially produced in the early periods.
These formations have cooler cars reformed with concentration type air coolers installed on the center of the roof.
[TP-3] Shizuoka Railway Series 1000 Dispersal Cooler car (2-car set)
This kit is for recreating the series 1009~1012 formation produced in the later periods.
These formations were produced as cooler cars to begin with,
And has Toshiba disperse type air cooler installed.
Regarding the construction, the body itself has been formed as a single piece, so they already comes in a box shape.
The disperse type cooler cars can have roof equipments such as coolers, antennae, pantograph etc. assembled onto the roof board.
The concentration type cooler cars have the air cooler molded onto the roof board.
This makes less things to assemble, and is that much easier to make.
I checked the instruction manual briefly and it seems like its more complex for the coloring rather than the construction.
Also, there was a sheet of explanation by Platz with
TOO MUCH DETAIL.
By the way, here is a sample photo of the LuLuCa wrapping train [TP-1].

hmmmmm... I don't know if I can get the decal on as well as that.
You will never know until you try, but I have a feeling that it will be the toughest part.
These Shizuoka Railway 1000 series kits... I'm sorry to inform, we haven't got them here at Hobby Search as of yet.
But here are the Shizuoka Railway models (https://www.1999.co.jp/search_e.asp?Typ1_c=109&scope=0&scope2=0&urikire=1&itkey=Shizuoka+Railway) we currently are dealing with!
So from the next post onwards, Id like to talk about the Shizuoka Railways and report on the construction slowly in an INCONSQCUTIVE/INCONSISTANT manner.
By Kapinozuka.
And this is today's pic for laughs.
