Perhaps the answer he seeks for lies beyond the Gates of Hell...
and only a stroke of genius sheds light on his patch.
Since 1902, the year of his nativity, the Thinker has
been tirelessly fathoming the depths of hell.
Here in Japan the Thinker is a somewhat well-known figure,
who is sometimes found sitting contemplatively somewhere
in the grounds of grade schools and other municipal properties.
He used to perch atop the lintel of the Gates of Hell, and there he would
sink deep in thought, while other main characters from the Divine Comedy
were romping and cavorting boisterously around him.
They must have been a great distraction to him, for the distressed
Thinker finally forsook that favorite seat of his, in preference
for somewhere no one would dare spoil his focus.

Both mentally and physically strong, this Thinker seems to have all the makings of the doer.
Behold his humble Himself!
He just looks like my Dad whiling away a languid Sunday afternoon.
At least, he has the courtesy to put on underwear, though.

Don't care so much! Life goes on.

The Thinker is the first to come in the series the Table Museum.
