The sixth generation SKYLINE R30 model wad released in August 1981. It had so-called wedge-shaped styling that had a low nose and high tail, giving it a dynamic overall shape. In addition, the traditional "surfing line" that had continued from the third generation to the fifth generation models disappeared in this sixth genaration SKYLINE. The advertising catchphrases used for the sixth generation models were " Cars are Love" and "New Love SKYLINE".
