- The first Japanese made Bulldozer
The first Japanese made Bulldozer used by the Japanese Navy in the Pacific War is
Komatsu G40.
Using agricultural tractor as base, it was developed by Komatsu to speed up the
construction of airfield, which had been relying only on manpower.
Equipped with gasoline engine with 50HP, and using an advanced technology at the time
such as oil-pressured dozer blade etc., G40 was a high spec bulldozer.
There were around 150 produced between Showa 18 (1943) and the end of war, and send
to warfront of the north and south etc. with the construction crew. Also, these skills were
used as the foundation of constructional machinery development after the war.
Model Specifications- 1/48 scale, Length 75mm. Based on data of the actual bulldozer, the functional appearance
specific to the construction machinery has been turned directly into a model.
- The characteristic oil-pressured dozer blade and piping etc. has been made very
realistically.
- An inlet mark has been prepared for the Navy emblem for the front grill, adding an accent
of realism.
- Comes with driver figurine for the southern front.
- The underside has also been accurately turned to model. It gives you an understanding of
the structure of the actual machine.
- The seat, control lever, oil-pressure mechanism etc., the area around the driver’s seat
also has high density of detail.
- The functional style of construction machinery has been turned to a model, shrunk to a
size that neatly fits on the palm of your hand.
