With its unique form, the [Tokai] stands out among our aircraft kits.
This aircraft was developed in the later stages of the war to suppress American submarines operating in the waters near Japan.
To provide a wide field of view at sea, it is equipped with a uniquely large windshield.
It featured a special design tailored to the unique mission of anti-submarine patrol, including flaps on the main wings that also served as dive brakes.
The troops began deployment in October 1944 and fought valiantly until the end of the war in the harsh circumstances of having lost air superiority.
This kit provides a detailed, three-dimensional representation of one of the few Imperial Japanese Navy aircraft that were developed after the start of the war against the United States and Great Britain, and that were mass-produced and deployed in combat.
You can choose between a model equipped with a magnetic detector and one equipped with a radio radar.
The kit includes two marking options: one for aircraft belonging to Saiki Air Base and another for aircraft belonging to the 901st Air Group.
The instruction manual includes a detailed explanation of the magnetic detectors and radio radars installed on the Tokai, as well as instructions on how to use each of them.
