-Bergepanzer 2 is a tank recovery vehicle developed based on Leopard 1 in Old West Germany as a successor to Bergepanzer 1 (M88A1).
-Development started in 1963 and a prototype was completed in 1965. After being tested, the Bergepanzer 2 [Standard] was handed over to the West German Army in 1966.
