-The chassis started with a wheelbase to tread ratio of 1.6 or less to improve cornering performance, and a two-seater was used to balance front and rear weights by 50:50. In addition, the use of a common platform with the Z4 enabled the use of highly rigid side sills, and the use of a monocoque that was approximately 2.5 times as rigid as the Toyota 86.
