-Kuzima Minin is a merchant born in Russia in Nizhny Novgorod (called Gorky in the Soviet era) and a hero of the Russian-Polish War in the 17th century.
-Created as the first car of the 31st Special Independent Armored Train Division formed in the same Nizhny Novgorod in 1942, this O-Series armored locomotive was named after a local hero.
-This [Special Division] armored train led the Russian army's first rocket launcher equipped train.
-`Kuma-Minin` was introduced from the Battle of Kursk and operated until the end of the war.
