-A pair of golden and bronze phoenixes on the roof, and one theory is that the phoenix is called "Phoenix Hall" from the early Edo period because of its appearance.
-The main statue of Amida Nyorai, which is enshrined in the temple, is a work of a Buddhist master, Jocho, who was one of the best Buddhist masters in the Heian period.
-Many cathedral halls were burned down by repeated disasters, but the Phoenix hall was miraculously covered.
-In 1994, registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as one of [Cultural assets of ancient Kyoto].
