-The Mitsubishi rally car that debuted at the 1981 World Rally Championship is the Lancer Turbo.
-Developed based on Lancer EX 2000 turbo of European specifications announced in 1979.
-It was a FR 2 wheel drive machine with front engine and rear drive developed in line with the regulations of Group 4 specifications.
-The engine mounted on the front is an in-line 4-cylinder SOHC 1997cc.
-Equipped with a turbocharger with an intercooler manufactured by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, which produced 280 horsepower.
-Continued development and debuted in 1981 in WRC.
-The following year, in August 1982, in the 9th round held in Finland in the 1000 Lakes Rally, P. Irikala and J. Pironen's combination won the 3rd place.
-We demonstrated the high running performance of FR2WD, a conventional mechanism and a well-balanced body structure.
