-It is now an open secret that the Soviet Union has researched and developed many things to gain a strategic advantage in the military.
-Over the years, some have been quite weird, and many prototypes, possibly classified as top secrets at the time, have been unveiled, allowing interesting insights into the past.

-The weirdest prototype was definitely the GAZ 16A. It consists of the abbreviations for [Gorkowsky Awtomobilny Sawod] and means [Gorky Automobile Factory].
-Founded in 1932, the company was involved in the manufacture of specialty vehicles such as trucks, passenger cars and amphibious vehicles.
-During the Cold War in the early 1950s, GAZ began to handle development work.

-And in the early 1960s, a vehicle class well known as an air cushion vehicle or hovercraft was added.
-GAZ engineers knew the conceptual difficulties of hovercraft, but were still able to design a harmonious body for a new car concept.
-Two propellers at the front and rear of the vehicle lifted the vehicle from the ground and two large propulsion propellers generated enough wind to move the hovercraft horizontally.
-Engineers around the world challenged the development and conception of air cushion vehicles, but in the end the economic and general success of this concept remained at a low level and was used in only a few areas.
