――The Fw190A was an excellent fighter, but due to repeated repairs, the weight increased and the increase in engine output was limited, making it inferior to the new Allied fighter.
――Especially, the output of the BMW air-cooled engine dropped sharply at high altitudes, making it difficult to intercept the bomber.
――Therefore, the liquid-cooled engine installation was tested and the Yumo engine-equipped type was adopted as the D type.
――By replacing the engine, the decrease in output at high altitude was suppressed and it was considered promising, but due to lack of fuel and veteran pilots, it was not possible to make a big success.
