――The name of this car is named after Edward the Black Prince, the eldest son of King Edward III of England in the 14th century and the hero of the Hundred Years War, and the development number of A43 was given.
--The Black Prince was designed on a Vauxhall car, just like the Churchill infantry tank.
――The total length is 8.81m for the Black Prince compared to 7.44m for Churchill, and 3.44m for the total width of 2.74m.
――Although the total height was kept low at 2.7m, the weight increased by 10 tons to about 50 tons, and the track width was widened for the purpose of reducing the ground pressure.
――At the same time, the suspension was also repaired and wheels were added one by one on each side.
--The Black Prince was prototyped in parallel with the Centurion, which would later become Britain's first [main battle tank], but the Centurion, which was equipped with the same 17-pound gun but had superior mobility, was seen as promising.
--When Centurion was shipped to Germany for combat testing in May 1945, six prototype vehicles of the Black Prince were completed, but on May 30, 1945 after the surrender of Germany, the Black Prince was mass-produced. It was officially decided not to move to, and at the same time it was decided to focus on the production of Centurion.
――The concept of infantry tanks has come to an end due to the discontinuation of the development of the Black Prince, and the development of tanks after the war will shift to main battle tanks that have both mobility and defense.
