[About the actual machine]
- Production started in 1958, 66 aircraft were produced by 1963, and the T-1 trainer was deployed to the Air Self-Defense Force.
- After World War II, it is a masterpiece aircraft that has been engraved in history as an aircraft that trained a large number of jet pilots, said to be 33,000, and contributed to Japan's post-war air defense.
- It was the first domestically produced jet training aircraft after the war.
- The T-1A is equipped with an imported British Bristol-Siddeley Orpheus engine. On January 19, 1958, the prototype T1F2 successfully completed its first flight.
- In 1959, the Orfus engine-equipped type was formalized as T-1A and mass production was decided.
-The T-1A, the first mass-produced aircraft delivered in September 1960, was mainly deployed in the 13th flight instruction group and demonstrated its power in training new pilots.
