-The C-1 is a domestically produced medium-sized transport aircraft of the Air Self-Defense Force, which has been deployed since 1973.
- First flight in November 1970, operation began in 1973.
- Equipped with two Pratt & Whitney JT8D turbofan engines.
- The rear door under the tail can be opened and closed to accommodate cargo and crew.
- 45 paratroopers in full gear, 60 normal personnel, plus 36 patients with stretchers attached to metal rods on the cargo floor.
- Also, the rear door can be opened and closed during flight, so it can be airdropped.
