- The I-176 submarine is one of the Umi Dai-7-class submarines.
- The Umi Dai-7 type is characterized by replacing the main engine from the U-mi Dai-6 type B, as well as concentrating the torpedo launch tubes in the bow and eliminating the launch tubes at the stern.
