- JNR Series 159 assembly kit

- The 159 series was introduced in March 1961 as a train for school trips in the Chukyo region of Aichi, Gifu, and Mie prefectures.
- It began operation on the Komadori train between Ogaki and Shinagawa/Tokyo in April 1961, and from the autumn of the following year it was also used on the Wakaayu train connecting the Chukyo region and the Sanyo region.
- In addition, during the off-season, the train was widely used, including on the special semi-express [Nagara] service between Tokyo and Ogaki.
- From around 1975, they began to be used in common with the 153 and 165 series, and some were repainted in Shonan colors.
