[About the actual machine]
The F/A-18E/F Super Hornet was developed as an advanced version of the F/A-18C/D Hornet and began deployment in 1999.
Compared to the C/D type, the aircraft is larger and the fuel tank capacity is increased, thereby extending the range.
Equipped with two F414-GE400 turbofan engines.
The armament consists of a fixed 20mm M61A1 Vulcan cannon, and the enlarged aircraft has been equipped with 11 additional hardpoints, which are capable of carrying most of the weapons used by the United States, including air-to-air missiles such as the AIM-120A, air-to-surface missiles such as the AGM-65E, and bombs.
The Sunliners, Carrier Air Wing One's strike fighter squadron, VFA-81, based out of Naval Air Station Oceana, operates the single-seat F/A-18E.
It is proving to be an effective multirole aircraft capable of performing a variety of missions.

This is a 1/72 scale plastic model assembly kit that reproduces the single-seat F/A-18E, the US Navy's carrier-based fighter, the F/A-18 Super Hornet.
