Product Description
- Masterpiece 16 Series 1/80 16.5mm Gauge Metal Kit
[Toyama Chiho Railway Moha 14722, Kuha 172 type train]
The 14720 series was manufactured by Nippon Sharyo in 1962, with two cars being manufactured: Moha 14721 and Moha 14722.
The 18m cars were almost identical to the 10020 series introduced the previous year, but the difference was that the 14720 series was a 1M type instead of the M`M type.
Initially, they were operated in three-car formations with SaHa 222 in between, but in 1969 SaHa 222 was converted to KuHa 172, and SaHa 221, which was incorporated into the 10020 series, was converted to KuHa 171 as the lead car, and they began to be operated in two two-car formations, MoHa 14721 + KuHa 171, and MoHa 14722 + KuHa 172.
This is a two-car train with different details, including the length of the cars.
After that, various changes were made to the specifications, such as the installation of air conditioning, and the train was also made into a one-man operation.
There were external differences between the 14721 and 14722 trains in various areas, such as the bottom of the car body and the spacing between the headlights.
Train 14721 was scrapped due to a fire, and train 14722 was retired in 2019, but their majestic appearance could still be seen until relatively recently.
In this project, we will be producing a prototype of train set 14722, which was produced in its final years after the switch to one-man operation.
Enjoy the majestic appearance of Toyama Chiho Railway's original rolling stock in action through this model.
