[About the actual vehicle]
The KiHa 65 series was developed as an upgrade to compensate for the lack of power output of the KiHa 58 series, which was deployed in large numbers at the time.
Inheriting the high output of the original Kiha 91, it was incorporated into express diesel railcar trains in various regions and played an active role. However, as electrification progressed throughout the country and the number of express diesel railcars decreased, it was converted into a joy train and found a new place to be used.
Among them, JR West's Edel was particularly popular, thanks to its beautifully curved, panoramic front car.

[Product Specifications]
Made primarily using brass material.
The car body and front are made of brass (stamped and pressed), while the undercarriage equipment is made of white metal and lost-wax casting.
