This is a 1/35 scale plastic model assembly kit of the German Tiger I mid-production heavy tank, presented in a package with box art by Masayoshi Onishi.

[About the actual car]
The German Tiger I tank was armed with a powerful 88mm main gun, which overwhelmed both Allied and Soviet forces.
The straight-lined hull boasted 100mm of heavy armor on the front, making it one of the most representative vehicles of World War II in terms of both offensive and defensive power.
Production began in 1942, and after being assigned to heavy tank battalions, it demonstrated its power on the North African and Eastern fronts.
The type produced between 1943 and 1944 is called the mid-production type.
Improvements were made to various parts, such as the removal of the smoke grenade launcher and the replacement with a new cupola equipped with a periscope.
Another notable feature is that from the middle of the mid-model period, Zinrit coating to protect against magnetically attracted mines became standard equipment.
The Tiger I began to be deployed gradually from 1942, but the 506th Heavy Tank Battalion, formed in July 1943, was the first unit to be equipped with Tiger I tanks from the start.
After fighting bravely on the Eastern Front, it was upgraded to the Tiger II and took part in the Battle of Arnhem on the Western Front and the Battle of the Ardennes.
