The grasshopper was originally an experimental subject at the Artificial Evolution Research Institute, and its specific number is unknown due to the loss of the archives. In March 2031, the EAE advance team discovered its remains in a cocoon in Antarctica and re-registered it as B0200 based on the last digit of the institute's numbering system.

Following the planning of the Daedalus Project, the EAE carried out mechanization modifications starting from the wreckage. In the Suffering Project, the EAE transplanted spinal cord tissue from a pilot who was in a near-fatal condition into the worm body, restoring only basic vital signs. Subsequently, CP-v7 samples were collected, and the isolated samples were transplanted into the spinal cord tissue. The consciousness structure was reconstructed using the A010 substrate, forming a consciousness model that closely approximated the pilot's behavioral patterns, which was designated as the basic operating mode (A mode).

Subsequently, two other operators fused samples from within the insect with internal receptors, developing modes B and C. The original neural synchronization algorithm was upgraded to a polymorphic neural synchronization algorithm, making the locust the first biomechanical complex capable of alternating operation by multiple operators. By operating the three modes alternately, sustained operations in almost all weather conditions are possible.
