Product Description

This exhibit recreates the final appearance of the Yamato, the last battleship of the Imperial Japanese Navy, as it set sail for Okinawa on April 6, 1945.
In search of the true nature of the Yamato, which is shrouded in many mysteries, we meticulously examined all available official drawings and documents during the planning and development of this product to create its design.
Based on the position of the hull frame, all structures, down to the portholes, are positioned as accurately as possible, and even subtle nuances such as the angle of bends and twists of the wall surfaces are thoroughly pursued.

- Includes newly researched Type 89 12.7cm twin anti-aircraft gun parts.
- Recreating the modified version of the ship after the refit, which included removing the central secondary guns on both the port and starboard sides to enhance anti-aircraft armament and adding 12.7cm high-angle guns and 25mm machine guns, as well as sealing the lower portholes on the hull to make it unsinkable.
