Product Description

The USS North Carolina was a battleship of the United States Navy and the lead ship of the North Carolina-class battleships.
The ship is named after North Carolina, and it is the third ship to bear that name.
The North Carolina-class battleships, being of the same generation as the Yamato-class battleships, were planned to be built with the aim of replacing older battleships and securing a numerical advantage in capital ships against the new generation battleships of potential adversaries.
The ship was laid down in 1937 and commissioned in 1941. From 1942 onwards, it was assigned to the carrier task force and was tasked with escorting transport fleets and providing direct protection for aircraft carriers.
During the Second Battle of the Solomon Islands, the ship was hit by a torpedo and suffered moderate damage, but after repairs it was used for escorting task forces and providing support fire during landing operations.
After the war, it was used as a training ship, then stored as a reserve vessel, and after being decommissioned, it now exists as a memorial ship.
North Carolina received 15 battle stars for its service in World War II.
The kit is a full-hull model, and the standard version includes decals, photo-etched parts, metal chains, and 3D-printed parts.
