Hey there everyone, this is Tominon.
Today I'll be taking a look at the
Ayanami Rei -Plug Suit style.- figure by Kotobukiya!
She stole my heart away with that distant, almost fragile expression...!
Rei continues to captivate people's hearts, fifteen years later.
The highlight of this Rei figure is its colors!
In order to carry out a faithful reproduction of Sadamoto's original artwork, they used colors of his art instead of the animation's.
This is the artwork that (I think) this figure is based on.
You can see the bluish, reddish, purplish shadows in this image.
The figure uses colors similar to the shadows in the artwork for its own shadows to bring out the "Sadamoto style."

You could try and make it while looking at the figure, or something.
Rei's plug suit fits tight against her body, accentuating the beauty of her feminine curves.
You can see the tender lines of her hips, legs, and so on from all kinds of angles. And you can also stare at the great sculpting of wrinkles around her neck, elbows, and other joints.
The base, too, is an amazing sculpt.
Everything from the cracked surface, exposed rebar, down to the rust on the concrete is so realistic, like an actual fragment of concrete debris.
Slender thighs... I worry she might break in a fight with an Angel.
But wow... The way her left leg is bent so her foot presses her thighs and squeezes them out is really something!
This kind of thing is easy to overlook or take for granted.
Is there any other 14 year old this seductive...!?
No, I believe not!
Every tuft of hair is crafted with care to create this soft look.
Rei's red eyes are done in Sadamoto style too.
In a night style setting.
Rei and the color blue go really well together.
I want to put her at a moonlit windowside!
