Nier: Automata Bring Arts 2B & Mechanical Life Form (Completed)

If Square Enix making a thing automatically does it justice, All the Bravest does justice to every Final Fantasy title, character, and enemy. People should be very suspicious of everything SE makes with "Arts" in the name. That's been the lesson of their figures since at least the FFX-2 days.

Dragon`s Crown Sorceress (PVC Figure)

I respectfully disagree (strongly) with "just plain hideous". In my opinion, this Dragon's Crown Sorceress figure is the complete opposite of "hideous".
I also disagree (gently) with "not a big fan of her face compared to previous renditions". Of the four Dragon's Crown Sorceress figures, this facial expression is my favourite.
Of course, everyone is going to have their own particular likes and dislikes.

I think she looks GREAT, but, the fact that Sqaure Enix is the manufacturer makes me doubt...I hate the painting and detailing of most of the Play Arts Kai line. But this being an 1/12 I think will be worth it.

Hataraku Onna no Ureta Ase Otome Kurosawa (PVC Figure)

- Set includes: figure body, replacement body, transparent acrylic pedestal

I wonder what the replacement body looks like. Other than that, price and scale really don't have correlation. Market and desirability usually dictate the final price. Usually figures from obscure series gets bargain-binned. Whereas ecchi figures tend to keep their value.

Hataraku Onna no Ureta Ase Otome Kurosawa (PVC Figure)

Thanks for replying saga.

I don't think I have a figure quite like this one that exudes such an amount of seduction in my collection. And yes, those legs sure are something. If her skirt is somehow castoffable, I'd love to see the sculpt on the posture+curves of her hips.

I'll hold off and wait a bit before jumping the gun. I really like her though so I might take the chance anyways and hope A+/Ryusuke delivers.

2018/02/09 17:29:56

saga

Hataraku Onna no Ureta Ase Otome Kurosawa (PVC Figure)

A+ is far from mediocre as my experience goes, as their name would imply. I have the 1/4.5 Freezing sculpted by Ryusuke and she is quite beautiful. There's obviously something that can't be fully conveyed from having the sculpture vs. seeing the photos.

As the 15k yen price goes, it's a bit steep for a 1/6 scale figure...but the musculature of her legs and overall charm is quite alluring... I'm more hooked if I could see a few cast off photos! Till then I'll personally be holding off myself.

2018/02/09 14:14:38

Mike

Hataraku Onna no Ureta Ase Otome Kurosawa (PVC Figure)

Anyone know if the sculptor Ryusuke and A+ is consistent with their prototypes?

She looks gorgeous but dont know if I should risk 15000yen for a figure from a company I have no experience with. And with all these newer figure companies popping out with mediocre qualities compared to their prototypes. I've been avoiding anyone i don't know after a few bad experiences.

Axia Canvas Art Series No.038 High School DxD [Rias Gremory] Original Ver. Part.2 (Anime Toy)

this looks great but had figured with the price to be @26inx24in or reduced to maybe @18inX22-24in since the use of canvas over Silk. To be as little as only @9inX11in is no more than the size of a sheet of paper and the with way the add looks, the actual picture is actually deceptively much smaller.

Kay

Erotic Extremely Sadistic Policewoman Akiko Designed by Non Oda (PVC Figure)

The one I bought here had a slightly slanted peg, so she doesn't fully stand on the platform. Her hands are so wide open that there is no way the cuffs will attach without adding extra cushion. 5/5 for art. 3/5 for my particular mass produced defect.

I wasn't huge on the Plateado one. Expression was great, but otherwise I felt it was lacking. I definitely know what you mean with this one though. I can't place it, but it feels weird. I actually thought the Aquamarine figure was the closest so far. Expression is more determined than melancholy, but I can live with that being my only complaint.

Dissidia Final Fantasy Play Arts Kai Tina Branford (Completed)

like the character when playing FF6 years ago; but somehow the design and colors feel a bit outdated; and the rib cage anatomy and belly button...

i guess the interpretation of the original artwork (by talented Yoshitaka Amano) was pretty difficult as it was more like an 'impression' of characters rather than contemporary / realistic art styles, which are easier to translate into 3D and manufacture into figures. was also hoping they'd redesign it a bit more to fit today's fashion appeal

Saber/Arturia Pendragon [Alter] Dress Ver. (PVC Figure)

@ choosy
Sorry, this is a way late reply, but I disagree that Alter's painting
scheme is any less brighter or duller. It really depends on the
character that they are trying to portray. All of their idolm@ster
figures feature quite vivacious coloring schemes, as they should,
considering the subject, the costumes, etc.

2018/01/12 14:59:00

Discoceris

Sinon (PVC Figure)

There's something off about this figure, but I can't put
my finger on what is wrong. Maybe it's the pose, maybe
it's the facial expression, maybe it's the coloring scheme...
I just know that I'm actually disappointed considering
it's from Alter. In fact, none of the other versions out there,
Aquamarine, Kotobukiya, etc., has captured Sinon. Maybe
Plateado is the closest.
