――The AV-8B that appeared under such circumstances was significantly improved in order to meet the tactical demands of the US Marine Corps.
――The main wing has been enlarged, the cross section has become a supercritical airfoil, and LERX (extension of the front edge) has been provided at the base of the main wing for aerodynamic improvement.
――In addition, due to the heavy use of composite materials, the weight was kept to a minimum, and the auxiliary wheels under the wing moved from the tip of the wing to the center of the main wing, increasing two hard points under the wing.
――On the other hand, the avionics have also been significantly modernized, and the nose is equipped with the ARBS (angular velocity bombing system) that was put into practical use with the A-4M Skyhawk, and the accuracy of dropping weapons has improved dramatically, making it even more versatile. In addition to adopting the display and HOTAS method (which allows you to operate various systems without taking your hands off the control stick and throttle), the canopy has been enlarged to provide a wider view and improved maneuverability.

During VTOL, a new retractable front fence and a larger conventional removable strake have been added.
