Product Description
When Iraqi forces invaded Kuwait in August 1990, the United States and other Western countries immediately launched countermeasures and moved their troops towards the Middle East.
The Iraqi army was notified of the withdrawal deadline, and Operation Desert Shield was launched.
The U.S. Air Force will first deploy F-15Cs from the 71st Tactical Fighter Squadron (71TFS) of the 1st Tactical Wing (1TFW) to Saudi Arabia.
This unit was the first U.S. combat force to land to support Operation Desert Shield.
Other units, including the 33rd Fighter Wing (33TFW), will also be deployed to various bases in Saudi Arabia.
When Operation Desert Storm began on January 17, 1991, each F-15 squadron engaged in escorting attack aircraft, shooting down Iraqi Air Force MiGs and Mirage F-1s one after another. During the Gulf War, the F-15s were credited with 35 kills (including helicopters), resulting in a one-sided war with no losses or downed aircraft.
This kit features a newly molded part to recreate the vertical stabilizer equipped with a rear warning antenna that matches the aircraft's design.
The kit includes markings for a 33rd TFW aircraft with the [GULF SPIRIT] mark on the nose, a MiG killer aircraft with kill marks painted on it, and a 71st TFS aircraft with kill marks.
