This is a 1/72 scale plastic model assembly kit of the F-111A Aardvark, the world's first practical variable-sweep wing fighter aircraft, which was operated by the U.S. Air Force from 1967 to 1996.

The F-111 Aardvark, operated by the United States Air Force, has made its mark in history as the world's first practical variable-sweep wing aircraft.
Development by General Dynamics began in 1961, and the aircraft successfully made its maiden flight in 1964.
It was adopted by the U.S. Air Force in 1968.
Its most distinctive feature was the adoption of variable geometry wings. With its wings extended, it had a short take-off and landing capability, allowing it to take off and land from a distance of only 2,000 feet (about 600 meters). Once in the air and with its wings folded, it could fly at 2.2 times the speed of sound.
In addition, it was equipped with terrain-following radar and had the capability to fly supersonic along the ground surface.
Furthermore, its side-by-side two-seat cockpit featured a modular emergency escape system, making it a highly regarded aircraft with state-of-the-art equipment for its time.
