- The Maritime Self Defense Force's earliest escort ship [Asahi], [Hatsuhi] was handed over in 1955 to two Canon class escort destroyers lent from the US Navy and was operated until 1975.
- After that it was transferred to the Philippine Navy, renamed as Raja Fumabon, a long-dated ship operated over 70 years since the commissioning of the US Navy in 1946.
- In 2016, we conduct goodwill training with [Ike], the following year we are training both [Yuutichi] and [Yuigiri].
