[Actual vehicle]
- In 1996 (Jun. 8), JR West made 283 series appear as a new express train for the Kibo main line.
- The first controlled pendulum type was adopted in JR West Japan. The leading shape full of speed makes the image of dolphins imaginable, and in addition to the streamlined panorama green car, the penetrating top car is manufactured so that the composition composition can be flexibly changed.
- Exterior paint is based on Ocean Green which makes image of resort area and white of Nanki Shirahama keynote, and gold band was added as an accent on the skirt part of the car body.
- To date a total of 18 cars were produced, consisting of 6 stations (A formation) 2 each, 3 stations (B organization / C formation) 1 each, and continues to be active as a resort express train connecting the Kinki district and the Nanki district now .
