--VM-T is a non-standard freight transport aircraft designed based on the M-4 bomber to transport the Soviet Space Shuttle [Bran] and [Energia] rockets from the factory to the Baikonur Cosmodrome.
--The VM-T, which has a structure for loading large cargo on the back of the M-4 bomber, has been changed from a single vertical stabilizer to a format in which twin vertical stabilizers are attached to both ends of the horizontal stabilizer, and it can carry ultra-heavy and large volumes of cargo. Fly-by-wire was introduced in the flight control system for mounting.
--The aircraft, which first flew in 1981, was initially of great concern for accidents in service due to its design, and Western aviation critics said [Soviet rationalism sometimes allowed the plane to fly by the magic of science. However, no fatal accidents have occurred so far, and no aircraft was lost in the crash.
--VM-T retired in 1989 when the successor An-225 Muriya was commissioned.
