- The M.39 is a seaplane built by the Italian company Aermacchi in 1926 for exclusive use in the Schneider Trophy race.
- Macchi raced in 1925 with the Macchi M.33 flying boat, a monoplane designed to reduce drag, but finished third.
- So Macchi wanted an entry for the Schneider Trophy with a seaplane-style aircraft modeled after the then-winning American Curtiss R3C-2.
- This aircraft was produced to stop the United States from winning the 3rd consecutive victory with Italy's all-out efforts, but although it adopted the seaplane style, the main wing followed the previous work and was made into a monoplane.
- The M.39 got its revenge by winning the 1926 Schneider Trophy race in Virginia, USA.
