- The P-47 Thunderbolt is a reciprocating single-engine fighter developed by the Republic of America and operated by the United States Army Air Forces.
- This machine, which appeared in the latter half of World War II, played an active role in the European front as the main fighter of the US military along with the P-51, and the total number of production machines in the series reached 15,660.
- The P-47B, which first flew in 1941, weighed about 4,500 kg and was equipped with an air-cooled 18-cylinder star-shaped P&W R-2800 Double Wasp engine with an output of about 2,000 horsepower. It was considered a threat by German pilots when it participated as an escort fighter for the B-17 heading for German bombing.
