- The 800 series 0-type vehicles have been in service since the line's opening, and there are currently five sets in operation.

- The Kyushu Shinkansen is a line that runs between Hakata and Kagoshima-Chuo.
- The 800 series 0-type trains were introduced when the Shin-Yatsushiro–Kagoshima-Chuo section was partially opened in 2004, and there are currently five trains in service.
- In recent years, the train number has been written on the driver's cab window.
